Getting started with Casttit
Casttit puts your phone's game live on your Windows PC: the picture in a clean window for OBS, and the game sound in your PC headset. Here's your first stream, from download to live.
What you need
- A Windows 10 (version 2004 or newer) or Windows 11 PC, 64-bit. See the requirements for processor and memory.
- An Android phone (Android 10 or newer) or an iPhone.
- The phone's USB cable. A data cable, not a charge-only one.
- OBS Studio 30.1 or newer if you stream or record (free; the link always gives the newest version): it records Casttit's sound together with the picture.
- Your Casttit invite code. The beta is for invited creators.
1. Install Casttit for Windows
- Open your invite link, or the download page, and enter your invite code. Choose Download for Windows.
- Open the downloaded file. If your browser says the file isn't commonly downloaded, choose Keep. If Windows says Windows protected your PC, choose More info, then Run anyway. The beta isn't signed yet; the full release will be.
- Follow the setup. When Windows asks whether Casttit may make changes, choose Yes: the installer sets up the USB drivers for your phone.
2. Enter your invite code
The first time Casttit starts, it asks for your invite code. Type it in (it looks like ABCD-1234) and choose Unlock Casttit. Your invite runs Casttit on one PC. More about invite codes.
3. Get your phone ready
- Android: install the free Casttit app from the same download page, on your phone. Android setup.
- iPhone: nothing to install on the phone. iPhone setup.
4. Plug in and go live
- In Casttit, choose your headset in the Headset list.
- Plug your phone in. Casttit finds it by itself. The first time, it may show a one-time setup screen: follow it.
- On Android, open the Casttit app and tap Start streaming, then allow screen sharing. On iPhone, tap Trust if the iPhone asks.
- Your game appears in Casttit, and its sound plays in your headset. Your phone goes quiet.
5. Add Casttit to OBS
Press Open OBS preview in Casttit, then add it to OBS as a Window Capture with its sound. It takes a minute: Set up OBS.
