Set up an Android phone with Casttit

Updated 15 October 2026

On Android, Casttit uses its free app on the phone and a one-time setup on the PC. After that: plug in, tap Start streaming, and you're live.

1. Install the Casttit app

  1. On your phone, open your invite link and tap Download for Android. If the browser warns about the file, choose Download anyway.
  2. Open the downloaded file. The first time, Android asks to allow apps from this source: turn it on, then go back.
  3. Tap Install. If Google Play Protect asks about an app it doesn't know yet, choose More details, then Install anyway.

2. Allow two permissions

Open Casttit on the phone. It asks for two things, once:

  • Game sound. Android calls this Microphone. Casttit uses it only to capture your game's sound, never your voice.
  • Notifications. Shows that Casttit is streaming, with a Stop button.

3. The one-time USB setup

Plug the phone into your PC. The first time, Casttit for Windows shows a setup screen with two choices:

  • Turn on USB debugging (recommended). One setting on your phone, about a minute. File transfer to your PC keeps working. Casttit continues by itself as soon as it's on.
  • One-click setup (quickest). Casttit installs a USB driver for this phone. While it's installed, Windows can't copy photos or files to and from this phone; you can restore that anytime in Casttit's Settings → Your phones.

Windows asks your permission once for each driver. Choose Yes.

4. Start streaming

  1. In the Casttit app, tap Start streaming.
  2. Android asks to share your screen. Choose the whole screen, then tap the button Android shows: Share screen, Start or Start now.
  3. Your game appears in Casttit on the PC, and its sound plays in your PC headset. The phone's speaker goes quiet while you stream, and comes back when you stop.

Picture quality

Casttit's Quality list grows with what your phone can do: Smooth, Balanced, Sharp and, on phones that manage it, Sharpest. Sharp is a good start for most phones. If the picture stutters, try a step lower.

Another program using your phone? If Casttit says Your phone is busy, a program like Android Studio, scrcpy or a phone manager is holding the phone's USB connection. Close it and Casttit connects by itself.

Questions

Which Android phones work?

Android 10 or newer, with the free Casttit app. We test on more phones every week; if yours has trouble, tell us its model.

Will every game's sound come through?

Most games let their sound be captured; a few block it. If a game stays silent on the PC while others work, that game blocks capture.

Can I use Wi-Fi instead of the cable?

Yes, with Android phones. In Casttit's setup screen, choose 'No cable? Connect over Wi-Fi'. A cable is steadier and charges the phone while you play.
